Hey guys,
I don't have much experience with this product. Our local NFB chapter has an account, but I've only ever used the voice-mail and answered a few calls on my phone. I would like, if possible, to make calls from the web (as I'm currently between cell phones), but I can't seem to get that feature to work. Is it not accessible with JAWS?
Thanks,
Becky
Yes, it is accessible with JAWS although not 100% from my personal use. I've just played around with it until I figured some things out on my own. I suppose there is info somewhere on the web but when I first started using GV there wasn't much.
You have everything set up, the GV # linked with a landline or cell? If so, log on to your GV page and then press spacebar on the call button. Once you've done that, press shift and enter keys together. Give it a second or two and an edit box asking for the number should pop up. Enter the number (with area code) in the box and then press spacebar on the send button, then press shift and enter at the same time. Depending on the time of day, the linked phone should start ringing in a matter of seconds. Answer the phone and you should hear the phone ringing on the other end and Voila! you have placed your call.
also with google services like google voice, you will need to turn off virtual cursor and use your tab key to get around. Its probly from what I played with user friendly via the google android platform vs using it with windows or IOS.
but doesn't it use minutes from your cell if it calls it ?
I use MagicJack for VOIP calls.
yes, unless you've got unlimited or one of those plans that lets you pick certain numbers that are "free"
